Today is my monthly card making day with my Senior Living friends at Nelson Gables. It has been over 5 years since I started stamping with them and it is a bright spot in my month.
One of the new residence is a former card class member, it is so much fun to stamp again with her. When I was a nurse, geriatric nursing was my favorite and this is like having the best of both worlds, my older friends and stamping!
Here are the two hand stamped cards we will be making today.
This card is easy but has a little WOW factor we are using the Birthday Blooms stamp set from the Stampin' Up! Occasions Catalog. While I love the fonts used in the sentiments from this set, I choose to use the frame and sentiment from Rose Garden stamp set also in the Occasions Catalog.
Tom (my hubby) comes along on the days I need a Big Shot operator. Most guys love the Big Shot after all it's another tool!
Notice the fine Metallic Thread looped behind the sentiment, this thread is the perfect little filler and comes in both gold and silver. To finish it off I just added a black Candy Dot below the "d".
Here is the other card we are making. The cards need to be easy enough so they can stamp most of it themselves and yet create a bit of a Wow. I usually end up stamping the sentiment as they say they can't get them straight enough. I do tell them that I will stamp it but there are no guarantees LOL.
I love hearing from you so please feel free to comment, ask questions or share your thoughts. Comment Here

Supplies for flower card!
What a wonderful idea and what a blessing to the seniors! It is a win-win situation.
The cards are lovely and simple but something to be proud of doing.
Keep up the good work.
I LOVE these cards Patsy!!! Fabulous for working with seniors and I do so I am so glad you shared these today. Thank you!
These cards are great. I go to a care facility once a month to do cards with the residents. About 10-15 participate. I am always looking for simple cards to do with them. Thank you!
Super cards. I’ve been asked to come and do a card class for a local Sr. Living facility in my area and didn’t have any idea as what to do…You’ve made it easy for me. Please pass along more ideas that you do with Seniors. Thank you so much!!
What a blessing. What did you charge to make these two cards for the seniors? How do you know how many cards to make in advance?
Thank you Ruth it is always a fun day and they have blessed my life too.
They really loved today’s cards. I took Tom along to run the Big Shot and they love to see him too! I think I will start a pinterest folder for quick and simple cards for Seniors.
I usually have about 10 cards – it is sometimes hard to find easy but looked like we fussed cards. They don’t always look like mine but I like that and then their family knows they stamped it for real.
Hi Ellen, I think I will start a pinterest board with ideas to use for Quick and Easy cards. I will try to post them every month.
I don’t charge anything for them to make the cards – I am able to use the activity room for my downline meetings at no charge which is a huge blessing.
WOW!
WOW! WOW!
Fabulous and thank you once again for sharing your talent.
Patsy, simple elegant cards are outstanding. Amen to Ellen Roy.
Thank You Lin, always good to hear from you! Have a great weekend.
